Heritage Hall Vancouver

Heritage Hall Vancouver Website Design

Heritage Hall Vancouver has been a staple building in the Mount Pleasant skyline since 1914. With a building so old it’s no surprise it has been used for various things, a post office, an RCMP office and now a space for the community to gather. In the early 1980 Heritage Hall Vancouver was restored and turned into the building it is today, a community space. But with a building so old there is always going to need to be a new round of updating.

Problem:
With a new renovation of the roof and Ballroom underway, it was time to update their website and branding. The website and brand reflected the colours and values of the last renovation in the early 1980s, and it was time to bring this historic building into the 2020s.

Solution:
Create a new logo that will translate better to all types of marketing materials and create a new brand that matches the colours of the new renovation.

BEFORE

LOGO DESIGN

There wasn’t much of a budget for a logo redesign but it was defiantly necessary. Heritage Hall Vancouver didn’t really have a single official logo and instead had been using two illustrations of the building as their logo. However, with the original vector files of these logos lost to time, they needed something new. We kept the design clean and simple drawing inspiration from other heritage building logos and some of the architectural aspects of the building. The main breakthrough we made in the logo design phase was actually with the name branding. Many History Buildings go by the name Heritage Hall so we opted to officially change the logo and website URL to Heritage Hall Vancouver, making this building even more unique to this specific community.

FINAL LOGO

WEBSITE DESIGN

The old Heritage Hall Vancouver website was many years old and the content organization and layouts reflected that. With the new website, the goal was to simplify the process of booking the hall and learning about the different packages and options it offered. We started by analysing other sites in a similar industry to pick up on the design and functionality they did well and then applying it to our own design. The final design included one rent the hall page that includes all the information about rates, floor plans, images and a booking calendar. Condensing all the important booking fuctionailty into one page.
