THE PROCESS
Research
All project begins with research. You will be asked to complete and return a comprehensive intake questionnaire defining the purpose, scope, and vision of the project. Any number of calls and emails will be exchanged until a thorough understanding of your needs is reached.
Contract
Once the scope has been defined I’ll create a proposal and contract. A contract states the agreed-upon scope, terms, conditions, and a schedule of payments. A contract is mandatory for any project, large or small, and is delivered and signed electronically.
Deposit
Upon signing of the contract, an initial invoice is generated for an up-front deposit on the project. The project can not start until the deposit has been received.
Production
The production phase is when all the fun stuff happens. We always start with a Marketing Strategy and from there we branch into Design and then Development depending on the needs of your project.
Delivery
Upon approval of the final rendering, and upon receipt of the final payment, the completed and formatted design files are delivered to Client and the project is deemed complete.

FAQ
A Tech solution would be way cheaper
There are a number of reasons that a quality designer is better than a cheap tech solution:
1. Higher quality overall design. A designer like me will create a logo that works on every platform, and provide you with information on how to use them. Tech solutions do not do this.
2. The logo I create for you is unique and can be trademarked. Many designs from tech solution providers are not unique designs, and cannot be trademarked.
3. Relationships matter. When you work with me, I am learning everything there is to know about you and your company so I can help your company grow in the future. A tech solution doesn’t care about you – they are looking to spit out something generic as fast as possible to get paid.
I can’t afford it, is it really necessary?
Your brand is how your customer comes to understand your company. An out-of-date brand shows a lack of attention to detail and an inability to stay up-to-date with current market trends. Your branding is a statement about your company, and it is the first thing customers will use to judge whether or not they want to buy your product or services.
Especially when I can do it all myself.
That is a great question. We are lucky to live in a time when there are so many options for business owners to DIY all aspects of their company. But as a small business owner, you know that time is money. And the real question is, what is the best use of your time?
Your time is precious; every moment you spend on DIYing your website or social media is time lost running your business. Delegating these tasks to people like me allow you to focus on what matters. Running your business.
Why would I want to design my projects this way?
Figuring out your company’s message and voice, as well as the majority of the written content is essential before starting the design. This ensures that your content and message informs your design to create seamless branding and a better user experience, which is essential for sales conversion.
Is mobile really that important?
I won’t quote any mobile vs desktop web browser stats, by the time you read this they will have increased anyways. The point is, more and more people everyday are using their mobile device as their main tool to navigate the web. If your website isn’t optimized for mobile devices, or there are portions of your site you can only access from a desktop computer, you will lose business.
Mobile first design, or “progressive enhancement”, is when we start the design process by optimizing it for mobile devices. We then add and change the content as the user switches to bigger devices. This approach ensures that all core functionality is easy to use, and well displayed on all mobile devices, before moving on to easier-to-design-for formats like laptops and desktops.
Do you do both?
I have work as both a designer and developer. They are two very different disciplines with heavy overlap. Design is any graphic based creation, from business cards and brochure design to website mockups. Development is anything that requires coding, like a mobile app, or website.
When creating something like a website, you need a designer to design the site’s theme and functionality and a developer to build, test, and launch the website. Developers and Designers must work hand in hand to create a great website.
When you work with Kelsey Grant Arts Inc., everything is done in-house. My time as a developer has taught me how to design for development and given me a more technical eye than most designers. I design and develop websites and brands. Anything I’m not an expert in, I subcontract and manage to make sure it is to my standards, and you are receiving the best quality product.
I have a small budget can you work within that?
As a business owner myself I understand the importance of stretching your dollar. I’m not here to tell you to spend money on something you don’t need. The service packages I create for my clients are tailored to their specific needs and market. I don’t believe in wasteful design or marketing – I won’t offer you a service if in the long-run, it’s not going to make you more money.
