The Board Doctor Kit is a surf and paddle board repair kit sold and distributed by Swell Composites. Swell Composites is a Vancouver-based company that sells and distributes surfboard blanks and eco-friendly resins across Canada. Swell Composites is actually the only Canadian company in their industry using and selling a 100% eco-friendly resin from the US industry leaders, Entropy Resins.
CONTENT PLANNING & STYLE ANALYSIS
Problem:
The target audience for this project was West Coast surfers who wanted to start repairing their own boards. Many of the people using the kit will likely never have repaired their surfboard themselves before. Keeping this in mind, I knew we had to create a kit and instruction set that was so clear and straightforward that it could help anybody through the steps of repairing their surfboard.
Solution:
The result was a fresh, eye-catching label for the outer packaging and the inside, a more simplified and straightforward design. By designing the kit instructions in conjunction with the bottle labels, we were able to turn a potentially complicated process into a relatively easy, step-by-step walk-through.
