PSS Brand Expansion
PSS Brand Expansion
For nearly 50 years, the Parent Support Services Society’s (PSS) mission has been to protect the safety and well-being of children and promote the health of all families in all their diversity in British Columbia. By partnering with communities and those in a parenting role, they can provide support, advocacy, education, research, and resources.
Problem:
Following the successful completion of the Parent Support Services Society (PSS) website redesign project, our next strategic endeavour was to extend the PSS brand presence across various platforms and media outlets. Our primary objective was to create standardized templates for email, flyers, and social media that could be seamlessly adopted by PSS’s regional offices. Given the organization’s wide-ranging services, which span across different provinces and regions, we aimed to develop a coherent visual identity that effectively conveyed their unique offerings across all communication channels.
Solution:
Our approach involved the creation of distinct, colour-coded templates tailored to specific regions and types of services. We also explored innovative ways to adapt and extend the existing brand elements to suit various platforms. An essential consideration was to ensure that the resulting templates would be user-friendly for PSS staff, regardless of their design expertise.
STARTING POINT
We started the project with preliminary mockups, exploring various layout possibilities and assessing the visual impact of regional colour schemes on templates and social media platforms.
FINALIZING LAYOUT AND COLOURS
From there we refined the layouts and colour palettes for email and flyer templates, as well as social media posts. We introduced four distinct colours, each corresponding to a specific region, and repurposed and expanded the brand’s colour palette to distinguish between various service types within each region.
FINAL LAYOUT
Here is a sample of the finalized templates, ready for the incorporation of color variations.
FINAL TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS
Below is a snapshot of the finalized templates with instructions on how to choose a template based on your region and level of care.
SOCIAL MEDIA BRANDING
In the final phase of the project, we updated PSS’s social media branding across all platforms, preparing them for the deployment of the new templates.
CONCLUSION
This project has been centred on creating a comprehensive design framework that ensures the effective communication of information across diverse platforms. Moreover, it was a paramount concern that the templates remain accessible to all members within the organization for seamless implementation. WHAT THE CLIENT HAD TO SAY
It was a pleasure to work with Kelsey on our non-profit’s website redesign project. Our new site is much more accessible, organised, and user friendly thanks to her expertise – with an updated sitemap, layout, and look, along with new graphic assets she created for us along the way. With such a big project, it was wonderful how Kelsey was consistently communicating and actively listening to our feedback. She took time to understand our organisation and connect with us, which really shows in the final result. Thank you so much for helping us bring our vision to life!
